Keventer Agro files DRHP for IPO with Sebi
Mandala Capital-backed Keventer Agro has filed draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities Exchange Board of India (Sebi). Dollar rises in early trade
The dollar was buoyant in early Tuesday trade as a run of strong US job figures solidified expectations the US Federal Reserve could soon start tapering its massive coronavirus-driven stimulus. Dollar index rose to 92.963. Euro slipped to $1.1732. Pound fell to $1.3846. Yen declined to 110.38 per dollar while Yuan fell to 6.4845 against the greenback.
Oil recovers from 3-week low levels
Oil prices rose on Tuesday, edging up from a three-week low in the previous session, but gains are likely to be limited on worries that rising COVID-19 cases and restrictions in China will dent fuel demand. Brent crude was up by 30 cents, or 0.4%, at $69.34 a barrel, after falling 2.3% on Monday. US oil was up by 43 cents, or 0.7, at $66.91 a barrel.
2 IPOs to kick off today
The specialty chemical producer Sanmar Chemplast and south-based home loan provider Aptus Value Housing Finance are all set to hit Indian primary markets today. The former will sell its shares in the fixed range of Rs 530-541 apiece to raise Rs 3,850 crore, whereas the latter will raise Rs 2,780 crore selling its shares in range of Rs 346-353 per shares. Both issues are open till Wednesday.

NSE to add 10 stocks to F&O from August 27
The National Stock Exchange will include 10 stocks to the F&O segment with effect from August 27. These include Can Fin Homes, Dixon Technologies, Hindustan Aeronautics, Indian Energy Exchange, IndiaMART InterMESH, Ipca Lab, MCX , Oracle Financial, Polycab India and Syngene International.
SGX Nifty signals a flat start
Nifty futures on Singapore Exchange traded 2.5 points, or 0.02 per cent, lower at 16,269.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a muted start on Tuesday.
Tech View: Nifty turns indecisive; buy on dips
Nifty50 on Monday came under selling pressure at 16,300 level, but the bulls fought back and were in no mood to give in. That resulted in the formation of an indecisive Doji-like candle on the daily chart. Analysts see immediate resistance for the index in the 16,300-16,400 range and support for the NSE barometer in the 16,176-16,146 range. “One can consider buying on dips,” they said.
Hong Kong stocks begin on front foot
Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Tuesday morning, extending the previous day’s gains as bargain-buyers moved in following a recent sell-off, though gains were tempered by lingering concerns over China’s tech crackdown and the fast-spreading Delta Covid variant. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.66 percent, or 173.21 points, to 26,456.61. The Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.17 percent, or 5.97 points, to 3,488.66.
Australia shares hit record highs
Australian shares touched an all-time high on Tuesday, boosted by financial stocks and strong earnings from blue-chip companies fibre cement maker James Hardie and annuities provider Challenger. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.41% to a record high of 7,569.4 points by 0043 GMT. The benchmark closed flat on Monday at 7,538.4 points.
Japan stocks open higher on weak yen
Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday, helped by a cheaper yen against the dollar and gains in other Asian markets. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.33 percent or 91.39 points at 27,911.43 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 0.31 percent or 6.05 points to 1,935.39.
US stocks settled mostly lower
Technology and energy companies led stocks lower on Wall Street Monday, easing the market back from its recent all-time highs. The S&P500 index fell 4.17 points to 4,432.35. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index dropped 106.66 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 35,101.85. The Nasdaq Composite index added 24.42 points, or 0.2 per cent, to 14,860.18.
Rupee snaps 5-day winning streak, drops 11 paise against dollar
Halting its five-session winning run, the rupee on Monday declined by 11 paise to close at 74.26 against the US dollar, tracking the firm American currency. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency opened at 74.21 against the greenback and slipped further to close at 74.26, registering a decline of 11 paise over its previous close.
Sensex, Nifty on Monday
Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty got back on the winning track after a day’s hiatus on Monday, with gains mainly in financial and IT stocks making amends for losses in metal and energy counters. Marking its fifth gain in the last six sessions, the BSE gauge Sensex ended 125.13 points or 0.23 per cent higher at 54,402.85. Likewise, the broader NSE Nifty advanced 20.05 points or 0.12 per cent to 16,258.25.
