There is a great scene in the 2002 Steven Spielberg film Minority Report when Tom Cruise undergoes a back-alley eyeball transplant.
In the film’s future dystopia, the authorities have deployed a swarm of spider-like robots to scan everybody’s iris until they find Cruise, who is accused of some heinous crime.
They eventually track down our hero but his new peepers, still settling into his skull under rancid bandages applied by his black market surgeon, do the trick. The little robots move on in search of their quarry.
